Spend an evening with McKayla Reece at The Altamont Theatre in Asheville North Carolina August 11, 2016. She will be debuting songs from her new album ‘Heart of a Rebel’, which will be released this summer.

On the album, McKayla interprets her roots through selected covers by legends including John Prine, Emmylou Harris and Bob Dylan. In her originals, she examines the voice of heartbreak, love, strength and hope.

Her live show incorporates a unique blend of country, rock, gospel and “mountain”. Not only can this young performer deliver a show, she has the magic that connects.

“I really wanted to honor my roots in my first record. I have always been drawn to lyrically-driven music that communicates and connects people through storytelling. Having been raised on a farm in Western North Carolina, it is really important to me for the music to reflect and relate.” - Mckayla
