Miss Mojo is a soul-pop band based out of New Orleans, Louisiana whose distinctive style is characterized by its airtight rhythm section, its hard-hitting horns, and the contrasting and complementary lead vocals of Jenna Winston and Piper Browne. The group’s creative energy draws principally from neo-soul and New Orleans’ extensive funk tradition, producing smooth and soulful original music in which “hip” and “pop” flawlessly coexist. Through years of playing in the crescent city’s vibrant party scene, Miss Mojo has developed extremely high-energy and danceable live performances that reflect the band’s musical and personal connection with an intensity that is unparalleled.
In January of 2017, Miss Mojo released its first EP, Up & Personal, a six-track album whose soulful ballads and body-loosening funk tunes demonstrate the band’s versatility. While actively seeking to hone and develop its unique sound, the group is consistently in the process of producing more original material. Having shared some of New Orleans’ most historic stages with some of its best artists, including Dumpstaphunk, Rebirth Brass Band, Naughty Professor, and Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Miss Mojo is eager to take its feel good music across the country.
